Fall time

Hi everyone,

Are you doing alright? What is going on?

Everything fine here. There hasn't been much time to enjoy the beautiful city of Edmonton with all its wonders recently, though. Just a couple of hours to meet friends and get distracted from my studies for a while. The few chances were the more precious, thus. Additionally, fall time around here makes up for many a lonesome reading hour:).

The group picture below was taken at Nicole's birthday at a vegetarian buffet restaurant. It almost turned into a second fail night, but fate was lenient;).

As every Saturday, we went to the farmer's market in nearby Strathcona. We, that is my host-sis Genevieve and her friend, wandered around for a while admiring the local produce and tasting our way through. I got my usual bucket of fruit (I also started eating nuts. Seriously). Afterwards I was shown around the best candystore in town as well as a used-books-store that is also home to a cat.

Yesterday evening, the enlightenment class got together for beer and cheer. Instead of at the Buckingham (where a concert of an unknown band cost 25 bucks:$), we ended up at the Cortez--in the middle of a fundraiser for the Edmontonian gay community:D! A lot of fun, let me tell you.
Probably the most cheerful moment of the week: I managed to get two tickets for the Vance Joy concert in January, although they were sold out within less than 20 minutes.

Some pics of the wonders of fall for you, hope you like them!
Hugs and kisses, see you next week!

The pile

Hi friends,
Are you doing alright?
Just a quick post--indeed I forgot it was Monday in Monday...
The book piles are rising higher and higher to the sky and it's hard to believe that this is only week three. Feels more like eleven last year.
Enjoy the pics and have a great week❤

Labour Day

It's Monday! Already...

Time is flying by, my second week back at UofA has not yet started and I am already buried in work. How could that have happened in such a short time, I wonder...

Today's update will be short, thus. I promised a second round of pictures and that you shall receive:).

Lots of love from AB!

Welcome back

Hey my dear friends, welcome back!

It's been a while since you have heard from me.

If you wish to refresh your memory of what happened so far, visit my other "online diary" on bambookoala.blogspot.com.

I am back to Edmonton and this occasion deserves to be celebrated with a new blog: Like the Bamboo Koala, my life is crazy and seems as if it doesn't really fit, but be honest - how many of you have realized that koalas don't eat bamboo;). So please, join me on this exciting adventure of four years at the University of Alberta!

Jon has suggested to get into a habit of weekly updates. Following in the footsteps of my favorite comedian, John Oliver, the posts will be released every Monday - starting today.

This time, you will get a couple of pics - "Ein Bild sagt mehr als tausend Worte" - to give you an impression of what life looked like during my time back in Innsbruck.

ENJOY!

All the best and kisses,
Rita
